Crime and Disorder Act 1998

The main purpose of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 is to tackle crime and disorder to create safer communities. It places a statutory obligation on local authorities and chief police officers to work together to develop and implement a strategy for reducing crime and disorder, and it introduced Anti-Social Behaviour Orders, Sex Offender Orders and Parenting Orders.
